The teaching of Balaam

 

 

Balaam is a man of Old Testament.In new Testment,there are  interprets why he was cursed.

 

2 Peter 2:15 Perter interpreted that Balaam loved the wages of wickedness,Jude 1:15 Jude interpreted that Balaam has rushed for profit.

 

It is clear Balaam hereby coveted property .

 

The teaching of Balaam have many implications for modern Chritian.Modern Church is deep in debt,a Balak may come to the church.

 

Hosea 4:6 God said that because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests.

What is he like?

 

And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said
He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open

 

▣Numbers 25:15~16

 

An Ammonite or Moabite hired against thee Balaam.

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever
Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved  thee.

Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever

Balaam attempted to send Israelites to their doom.

 

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality.

Blackest darkness is reserved for them.

They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness.
But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey--a beast without speech--who spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness.
These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.

Emulate the  faith of Moses.

 

By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter.
He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.
He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.
